HISTORY ASPECTS - The Mil Mi-35, a modernized export and upgrade version of the legendary Mi-24V “Hind,” represents one of the most formidable attack helicopter designs ever fielded by the Czech Air Force. Developed originally by the Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant, the Mil Mi-24 was conceived as a heavily armed, armored assault platform capable of both troop transport and close air support. The Mi-35 variant incorporates upgraded avionics, improved night-fighting capability, and enhanced systems, extending the service life and combat effectiveness of this Cold War-era design into modern NATO operations. The aircraft 3361, operated by 221 Squadron of the 22nd Air Base Wing, represented the Czech Air Force’s continued use of the Hind platform within NATO standards and exercises. In May 2011, this Mi-35 participated in the NATO Tiger Meet held at Cambrai, France, a prestigious multinational exercise organized under NATO. The event brought together elite squadrons from across allied air forces to demonstrate combat readiness, interoperability, and unit pride, with aircraft often wearing distinctive tiger-themed special liveries. Czech Mi-35s showcased the adaptability of legacy Soviet designs operating seamlessly within Western tactical frameworks. The Mi-24/35 family has seen combat service in numerous conflicts, beginning with extensive use in the Soviet-Afghan War, where its combination of firepower and armor earned it the nickname “flying tank.” Variants of the Hind have since been deployed in regional conflicts across Africa, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe, including operations in Iraq and other counterinsurgency environments. Its ability to deliver heavy fire support while transporting troops has made it one of the most enduring and widely recognized attack helicopters in military aviation history. This 1 - 48 scale model is a striking tribute to one of the world’s most iconic attack helicopters. Featuring authentic tiger-themed markings and the aggressive silhouette of the Hind, it captures the unique blend of Cold War engineering and modern NATO interoperability. Perfect for collectors of rotary-wing aircraft and NATO special liveries, this replica makes a bold and dynamic centerpiece for any military aviation collection.
