What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying: "I’ve logged countless dawn laps in these pants. They breathe when I’m skinning hard and keep snow out when I’m breaking trail. The thigh vents dump heat fast, and I really appreciate the tether in the pocket."When we're skinning toward the summit or dropping into fresh backcountry lines, the Black Diamond Dawn Patrol Pants keep us agile, protected, and comfortable all tour long. As one of our favorite softshells for daily use, these pants bring together high mobility and reliable weather protection with a design built to move in the mountains. The four-way stretch double weave fabric delivers breathable performance on the climb while offering enough durability to handle rock scrambles, ski edges, and crampon strikes. We love the thoughtful features like removable suspenders, inner thigh vents, and a right thigh pocket with an electronics tether. Snow gaiters and boot-access side zips seal out powder while the reinforced cuffs hold up over seasons of wear. Whether it's high-speed tours or all-day missions, the Dawn Patrol Pants are always in rotation.
