What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:"This is the rope I grab when every gram matters—whether it’s fast-and-light alpine missions or projecting tough sport routes. It handles super smoothly, catches falls confidently, and the dry treatment gives me peace of mind on mixed routes or weather-prone climbs."When our objectives are long, light, and committing, the Beal Opera 8.5mm Dry Cover Climbing Rope rises to the occasion. Touted as one of the lightest single ropes available, it’s also rated for half and twin rope use—making it incredibly versatile for alpine linkups, multi-pitch days, or ultralight redpoint burns.Beal's Dry Cover treatment shields the sheath from moisture and abrasion, while UNICORE technology bonds the core and sheath together to reduce slippage and improve safety. Its ultralight weight doesn’t sacrifice reliability, and the compact diameter glides effortlessly through belay devices for smooth feeds and confident catches.
