What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:"What I appreciate about the Nightline is that 686 didn't try to make it look like a ski jacket. The field jacket DNA is real and the silhouette actually works after you're done riding. That said, the 10K infiDRY shell and critically taped seams mean it's handling real weather, not just a light dusting. The body-mapped infiLOFT insulation keeps the bulk down while still giving you enough warmth for cold lift rides. The phone heater pocket is a small detail that matters more than people expect."Some days the mountain demands a technical shell and a hard-charging attitude. Other days you just want to look good on the lift and still make it through a surprise squall without soaking through. The 686 Nightline Insulated Jacket was built for the second kind of day. It borrows its structure from a classic field jacket and its protection from 686's infiDRY 10K shell, landing somewhere between resort-ready and genuinely wearable everywhere else.Body-mapped infiLOFT insulation keeps warmth where you need it without turning the jacket into a sleeping bag, and Air-Flo underarm vents give you an easy out when the pitch steepens or the sun comes out. The Pant Jacket Connect system, adjustable powder skirt, inner Lycra wrist gaiters, and helmet-compatible hood confirm this jacket knows where it's going. The YKK Metaluxe chest zipper and tricot mouth flap are the kind of details that remind you 686 sweated the small stuff so you don't have to.
