The New Balance 57/40 “Wheat/Green” is a gold-and-green colorway of the retro-modern lifestyle shoe by New Balance. The 57/40 is a contemporary spin on New Balance’s classic 574 model, a staple in the Boston footwear brand’s collection. Introduced in 2020, the 57/40 features several unique design elements that give the shoe a futuristic yet throwback look. Here, the “Wheat/Green” edition is complete with Wheat-colored mesh on the toe and tongue and tonal suede overlays. An oversized “N” logo is found on either side in green. Additional green New Balance branding appears in the form of an “NB” insignia on the wheat nylon tongue tag. A chunky, retro-inspired foam midsole gives the shoe a decidedly vintage, performance running shoe-style look.
