Kilian Hennessy's Inspiration: On turbulent seas, an inescapably transient pirate ship braves black waters with Black Phantom – “MEMENTO MORI.” Our founder worked with Sidonie Lancesseur to create this perfume icon, an Irish coffee with a twist by replacing the traditional whisky with the liquor of the pirates: rum. Black Phantom – “MEMENTO MORI” is sheer voluptuous sensuality created for those who live for pleasure. The Perfume: The fragrance opens with an accord of ‘Shin Shin’, a fiery drink of strong coffee laced with Caribbean rum. This coffee hides a deadly secret: what appears to be the fragrance of almonds is actually the scent of deadly sparkling cyanide, a Memento Mori! The aromatic bitterness of the coffee is enhanced by the earthy warmth of vetiver from Java. Finally, the sweetness of the rum is reflected in the luscious scent of sugar cane at the base of the fragrance, blended with darkly fragrant creamy sandalwood. Fragrance Notes:
