Stella McCartney, the daughter of Paul and Linda McCartney, was born in London and raised on the English countryside. After graduating from Central St Martins with a degree in fashion design, she quickly found success as an designer for Chloe's first two collections before being appointed Creative Director of this French company at age 25.

In 2001, Stella McCartney launched her own fashion house under the name of “Stella” with Kering Group. A lifelong vegetarian, McCartney vowed to never use animal leather in her work. And thus, a star was born, creating pieces that were not only stylish but also ethical and environmentally friendly. Her signature style - sharp tailoring mixed together with sexy femininity is what makes her so popular among consumers around globe today.

Since launching, McCartney has continued to put sustainability at the forefront of her brand. Some of the brand's commitments include (but are not limited to): NO leather, feathers, fur or skins, NO animal testing, PVC free, Angora free, NO Perfluorinated Compounds (PFCs) or azo dyes, NO sandblasting, NO cotton from Uzbekistan, Syria or Turkmenistan (states which are high risk for child or forced labor), NO mulesing, NO viscose from ancient and endangered forests, and always use FSC certified wood, paper and packaging.
